Bolt/Blizzard/Storm/Vortex Shaped Projectile and First Strike Upgrade Guide

One of the most frequently asked question: What is needed to shoot first strike on Bolt Marker, Blizzard Marker and the Vortex Marker? If you've purchased the whole marker after 2016, all Bolt Markers, Blizzard Markers and the Vortex Markers are shipped with Shaped Projectile and First Strike ready. You don't need to do anything other than loading projectile to the appropriate magazine.

Second most frequently asked question: Can round paintball, Shaped Projectile and First Strike be loaded in the same magazine? The answer is YES however there are some guidelines to follow.
(1) Soft springs are meant for round paintball, since the springs are gentle for reducing the chance that the gelatin paintball from being dimpled or crushed. If you load Shaped Projectile and First Strike in magazine with standard spring, it will load and shoot normally - however you have to pay attention to the projectiles in the magazine. This is because the magazine spring is lighter it cannot keep the stack of projectile fully  up at all times. The stack of projectile itself may get stuck in the magazine if the rounds  get bumped out of the stack during running or rapid movement.
(2) Stronger springs are meant to keep the stack of Shaped Projectile and First Strike to stay in place at all times, it does not allow any up or down movements in the magazine. Additionally the Shaped Projectile and First Strike are made of hard material and not gelatin, more pressure can be applied to the projectile without being dimpled or crushed. Round gelatin paintball can be loaded to these magazines, however long term exposure from higher spring tension will deform the projectiles.

Third most frequently asked question: What do I need to upgrade to shoot Shaped Projectile and First Strike if I have the Bolt/Blizzard/Vortex/Storm conversion kit. Below is the parts guide to upgrade your Bolt/Blizzard/Vortex/Storm to shoot Shaped Projectile and First Strike.

Bolt/Blizzard/Vortex Shaped Projectile and First Strike Upgrade Guide
A taper bolt is needed to shoot Shaped Projectile and First Strike to prevent the face of the bolt from clipping the tail fin of the projectile. If you have magazine with standard spring you will need to replace that spring to stronger one. For DMAG with standard spring, it is recommended to get new feed adapter when changing the spring from standard to Shaped Projectile Spring. Get magazine that are Shaped Projectile Ready or with Magazine with Shaped Projectile Spring already installed.

Powertube Setting
When installing your power tube to the body (some power tube and body different) make sure the end of the power tube (red arrow) does not go pass the feeding chamber (blue line). If end of your tube is entering into the chamber it may prevent the tail of the shaped rounds from feeding smoothly. To correct this, simply sand off the end of the tube until it is slightly below the blue line as shown.
